Education

No English? No problem.

Being a migrant should not mean losing an education in your native language. Nor should it mean losing access to classes that encourage critical and creative thinking.

At SOS, we bring intellectually stimulating lessons to students of all language abilities. We partner with schools and local immigration agencies to offer an in-school, or in-home curriculum centered around creative expression, civic engagement, and self-reflection.

Our curriculum provides students with the opportunity to read and write in their native languages, to learn about important aspects of United States culture such as democratic voting, our political structure, important holidays, and local traditions, and guide students through community engagement capstones, of varying levels of intensity. In addition, our curriculum caters to age and language ability, providing newcomers with skills-based "survival" English and more advanced students with the opportunity to take on creative projects that meet their intellectual potential.
